Leota PTSA has joined our Northshore PTA’s as part of a bulk purchase of 733 Stop The Bleed kits. Our PTSA achieved the goal of purchasing 23 Stop The Bleed kits for every other classroom and saved $5.00 per kit! Additionally, every school including Leota Middle School will be provided 2 Stop the Bleed Kits for placement at the School AED’s thanks to the NS Council PTSA. The kits will be delivered to Leota in June 2021. Several of our teachers have also responded and are taking a one-hour NSD training  A.C.T. To Save a Life: Antidote, CPR and Tourniquet training  which is also available to parents from South County Fire.

Stop the Bleed Kits are designed to help stop traumatic, life-threatening bleeding. To save a life, kits are important to have during the first 2 to 5 minutes before first responders arrive. The kits contain a high-quality C-A-T Tourniquet, 1 x 6-inch Responder Emergency Trauma Dressing, two Compressed Gauze, two pairs of Bear Claw Gloves (nitrile), Trauma Shears, Survival Blanket, one small permanent marker, and instructions. Kits are in a vacuum sealed package for long life and no maintenance.
